Jewish group meets with Berlusconi

Jewish group meets with Berlusconi Anti-Defamation League officials met with Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi to discuss how to fight anti-Semitism and terrorism. The ADL delegation also met Tuesday with other senior Italian officials. The delegation led by the group’s national director, Abraham Foxman, will present on Thursday the first ADL Dr. Joseph L. Lichten Award in Catholic-Jewish Relations to Cardinal Walter Kasper, president of the Vatican’s commission for relations with the Jews.
The ADL has a close relationship with Berlusconi, a strong supporter of Israel, to whom it presented its statesman of the year award in 2003. http://jta.org/
