07-09-06 - Israel says Gaza offensive has no timetable In the latest violence, Israeli aircraft fired missiles at three targets in Gaza, killing one civilian, and wounding nine others and a gunman. The civilian died in an air strike on a car carrying two militants in the southern town of Rafah where the gunmen fled the scene, one of them wounded. Four civilians were injured. Five more civilians were hurt in a separate Israeli air strike on a Hamas weapons van near Gaza City.

07-09-06 - Israeli incursion leaves fear and loathing in Gaza "This is real terrorism, this is the terrorism of the state," he said, angered particularly at the slaughter of the goats. "Those goats are priceless for me. It is a hobby I had. They killed my hobby and they killed my business."
07-09-06 - Palestinians blame Israel for missile hit The Palestinians on Sunday blamed Israel, saying it fired the missile at the house. Israeli military officials, citing intelligence, said a Palestinian anti-tank missile inadvertently hit the house, located on the outskirts of Gaza City near the front lines. Here we go again: every time one of the IDF's shells or missiles massacres civilians, suddenly it's the fault of the Palestinians. Their deception is like clockwork. And that the AP would attempt to blame the killing of Palestinian civililans on the militants, or the 'human shields' excuse, is laughable. The burden is not on Palestinians to keep the streets of their crowded refugee camps clear when the IDF invades their cities and towns. The burden is on Israel to stick to the rules of engagement. And this is a nation that not only flouts international and humanitarian law, but that flouts its own laws when THEY continue to use PALESTINIANS as human shields.

07-09-06 - UN warns of Gazans' struggle to survive He said in the north of Gaza Israeli forces had shot and destroyed rooftop water tanks and mains, while in the south more than 1,000 people had been forced to leave their homes. Rafah had no electricity because the army would not allow the UN to fix a minor fault, while the rest of Gaza had electricity for six hours a day.
07-09-06 - Family barbecue in Gaza ended in tragedy as they sat in the yard behind the house on Saturday evening they could hear an unmanned Israeli drone overhead but added that there had been no shooting in the area at the time. "Suddenly the drone rocketed us. The force was so great that one of my brothers was lifted over the fence. My father carried me and gave me to my sister and they called someone from the street and put me in an ambulance. I didn't feel anything at first but then it hurt a lot." In response to widespread charges among Palestinians that the Hajaj family were victims of an Israeli attack aimed at militants, the Israel Defence Forces yesterday said it was investigating the incident. But denying claims of "alleged tank or artillery fire" - not made by the family - a statement added: "The Israeli Air Force targeted a group of gunmen carrying anti-tank missiles in a street in Shajaiya, and identified hitting them." This is the attack from which Israel is trying to extricate itself of blame.
07-09-06 - Real-estate firm charged with favoring Jews U.S. officials charged a real-estate company in New Jersey of violating the Fair Housing Act in favor of Jewish families. The irony is here: that Israel gets away with doing this - and we still give them billions of our tax dollars to boot.

07-09-06 - War crimes It is surely no coincidence that the present offensive came just as all the Palestinian movements (except for Islamic Jihad) signed a joint declaration (2) accepting the establishment of a Palestinian state on all the territories occupied in 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital - an implicit recognition of Israel. The Israeli government wanted to stamp out any new Palestinian opening towards peace.

07-09-06 - When friends aren?t really friends: Be wary of evangelical support for Israel Finally, understand that Hagee's group is no "Christian AIPAC." His group is not pledged, as AIPAC is, to support all acts of the Israeli government. straight from the Rabbi's mouth.
