05-10-07 - Jerusalem plans new Jewish quarters in West Bank An Israeli newspaper on Thursday disclosed plans to build three new Jewish neighbourhoods around Jerusalem in the occupied West Bank sparking Palestinian condemnation. How did Israel obtain this land in the first place? Force. And land taken by force is inadmissible, under international law. So too is the colonization of said (occupied) land. The UN has ruled in the past that E. Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza are Israeli-OCCUPIED land. How is this move conducive to peace? It is a slap in the face to the Palestinians and to those in the region that are making the effort towards that end.

05-10-07 - Special Israeli army force invades Rafah and kidnaps two civilians On Wednesday, the Israeli army shot and wounded two Palestinian residents in eastern Gaza, as army tanks rolled about 500 meters into the northern Gaza Strip. Palestinian medical sources confirmed that one Palestinian resident received gunshot wounds to his legs after the Israeli army opened a hole in the barbed-wire fence on the eastern Gazan-Israeli border.
05-10-07 - Israelis plan more homes on occupied land Jerusalem's city council plans to build three new Jewish settlements on land it occupied in 1967, in contravention of international law, it was announced yesterday. The estates will be built on land that has been earmarked for a future Palestinian state, close to Bethlehem and Ramallah. The world said that they'd like to see Middle East PEACE, Israel again thought they meant PIECE as in, another PIECE of Palestine. This land grab has to do with DEMOGRAPHY - keeping as much Arab land as possible, with as few Arabs on it as possible.
05-10-07 - Palestinians trade abductions hours after President Abbas ordered calm
05-10-07 - A capital question Demography has been the chief battle-ground for control of the holy city ever since Israel annexed the eastern, Arab part. It tried to consolidate its hold by building Jewish neighbourhoods (illegal settlements, in the eyes of international law) around the Arab ones....Israel, meanwhile, has found various grounds to revoke the ?permanent resident? status granted to most Arab Jerusalemites after the annexation A frank look at Israel's efforts to 'Judaize' Jerusalem as reported by the Economist.
05-10-07 - U.S. to give assurances to ease funds to Palestinians But it was unclear whether the assurances, expected to come in the form of letters to banks and donors, will include restrictions that would prevent Fayyad from using the funds to cover the expenses of the Hamas-led Palestinian Authority, Western diplomats and Israeli officials said.

05-10-07 - Livni advances Israeli-Arab talks ** The Israeli foreign minister met her Egyptian and Jordanian counterparts, as well as Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, in Cairo on Thursday as part of recent attempts at rapprochement between Jerusalem and the Arab League. Coincidentally, Cheney was just in the region trying to lobby these same folks. Methinks that the real agenda here is the upcoming war on Iran. If it's not, then why doesn't Livni meet with her PALESTINIAN counterparts? That is who Israel is trying to negotiate peace with, no?

At that briefing and in other forums, Abrams reportedly said Rice's recent push to accelerate Israeli-Palestinian peace talks was "just process" and that President Bush would apply an "emergency brake" against any pressure on Israel. It's 'just process' to get the Arabs on board for war with Iran. My guess.
05-10-07 - Sneh challenges World Bank report Israel's deputy defense minister dismissed World Bank criticism of Israeli policy toward the Palestians as "one-sided." I'm sure the Nazis responded in like manner to criticism of their policies as well.
05-10-07 - Give the Arab Peace Initiative a Chance The report made no mention of the sheer damage inflicted. Lebanon?s airports, bridges and power plants were systematically ravaged. Villages were destroyed, and more than an eighth of its population displaced. Most important, the war took the lives of more than 1,200 Lebanese citizens, the vast majority of them civilians.

According to this analysis, the clan leaders want to extort promises for land from the Palestinian Authority, meanwhile biding time by cloaking the issue in global jihadist themes. Israel wants Al Qaeda in Gaza that way they can make the final push to conflate their 'war on terror' with ours; the basic goal of which is to foist their enemies on us (Iraq, Iran, Syria, Palestinians, etc).

05-10-07 - Hamas told to axe children's show The Israeli organisation, Palestinian Media Watch, said that Farfur took "every opportunity to indoctrinate young viewers with teachings of Islamic supremacy". And Israel doesn't encourage Jewish supremacy through its system of laws, land-leasing system, Jewish-only settlements, Jewish-only roads, law of return for Jews only, etc etc etc? Some things don't have to be directly stated. But the message is quite clear. SUPREMACY. I'm not a Muslim. In fact, I'm a Christian and a secular one at that. I'm not particulary interested in Islam either. The point is, you've got supremacy being taught on the other side as well. Perhaps this PMW ought not be such a hypocrite. But then, that's not their job. Their job is to propagandize. It's working, thanks to their buds in the mainstream American media. You would have thought by the sheer hysteria spouted by the aforementioned, that this Mickey Mouse had told these children to go out and kill Americans. Not so. Not even close.

Israeli settler leaders said the reported find of the Jewish king's tomb supported their historic right to the area, while Palestinians expressed fears that it would be used as a pretext to increase Jewish settlement construction south of Jerusalem. Wait a minute now. Does that mean that if I take hold by force of the land my ancestors inhabited, dig around and find evidence of their existence, that that land is mine? Wow. Sweet deal!
05-10-07 - The other side My friend is a house painter. He has never lifted a hand against an Israeli or anyone else, yet he and countless other Palestinians are corralled in their towns and villages by the Israeli Defense Forces. They are forced into desperate acts in order to feed their families.
